How is sub-meter billing calculated?

Divide the total bill amount by total consumption to find the unit price (TL/kWh). Multiply your sub-meter consumption (this month minus last month index) by this unit price to get your payment.

A sub-meter is a secondary meter connected to a main shared meter in apartment buildings. Each unit measures its own consumption. The total bill comes to the main meter while each unit pays proportionally to their consumption.

What is a meter index?

The meter index is the cumulative electricity consumption value measured by your meter (kWh). The difference between two readings gives your actual consumption for that period.

How is the unit price calculated?

Unit price = Total Bill Amount ÷ Total Consumption (kWh). For example, a 256.50 TL bill with 40 kWh consumption gives a unit price of 6.4125 TL/kWh.

How to Calculate Sub-Meter Share?

Step 1 — Find Your Usage: Subtract last month's index from this month's index. Example: 169 − 155 = 14 kWh
Step 2 — Unit Price: Divide total bill by total consumption. Example: 256.50 TL ÷ 40 kWh = 6.4125 TL/kWh
Step 3 — Your Payment: Multiply your consumption by unit price. Example: 14 × 6.4125 = 89.78 TL
